What To Expect.

I teach weekly, 1-on-1, in-person drum lessons out of a home studio located in Jackson Heights on the south side of Edmonton. The studio is equipped with two acoustic drum sets, a PA system for playing along to music, as well as some additional technology if you are interested in learning about recording and production.

For Beginners:
We will start your first drum lesson by talking about your interests and goals. If all you know is that you want to play drums but aren’t quite sure why, that’s okay! I will teach you basic technique, kit set up, and some standard grooves. From there we will get into the fundamentals: reading, theory, ear training, rudiments, and repertoire all in a way that is fun, engaging, and tailored to your individual goals. Within the first few lessons we will fall into a pace that’s right for you and from there there’s no limit on what you can learn!

For intermediate to advanced players: We will start your lesson by talking about your interests and goals. If you come to me with specific questions or you are prepping for an audition, we can get right into it and I will guide you toward where you want to be. If all you know is that you want to be a better drummer but you aren’t quite sure what that means, that’s cool too. I will evaluate your strengths and weaknesses and from there we will work together to develop a plan that’s right for you!

For those interested in recording and production: I am equipped with some standard technology (hardware and software) to teach you the fundamentals of recording and production.
